New member! I need your help

Hello. My name is Christian, I live in Florida and I am new to this page. I need thoughts from professionals like yourselves in a car purchase decision that I'm about to make. This is a g35 2005 coupe with 141k miles. The owner has agreed to sell it to me for 5k cash. I don't know much about cars and less about infinitis. Is this a good idea? This would be my first car and I don't want to regret it. Why should I buy a g35? What makes these cars so amazing that a whole page is dedicated to them? Thanks in advance g35 family. I hope to hear from everyone

A lot of us will recommend you not buy a G35 for your first car. First of all the insurance will kill you for a coupe if you're under 24. Then you will have the maintenance/ repair costs associated with a car with 141K miles which can be reduced dramatically if you can do a lot of the work yourself. Judging by your post that doesn't seem to fit your situation. These cars get pretty bad mileage as a general rule compared to a lot of the other cars out there these days. And a coupe doesn't have a lot of room to haul stuff/people. You would realistically need a few thousand dollars if not more in a savings to comfortably buy a car like this one and be prepared for the future.

Look for a more affordable/economical car for your introduction to car ownership and come back to the G or a "cooler" car when you get everything figured out.

Get a Civic/ford ranger. There are much better first cars that you don't have to plan for maintenance work on.

You live if Florida, a perfect first car would be a Mazda Miata! They aren't expensive, parts and service is inexpensive and your insurance won't eat up your wallet! Best part is they're fun to drive!

I'll buy it of you have the money.
I own 3 g35s already
The trunk is worthless but fun to drive I don't have kids so the space isn't a issue if i need space I have my truck.
My first one had no issues at all had it from 80k-140k most expensive part I needed to buy where the spark plugs everything else was regular price. Sold it because I needed the money then.
Second biggest issue I had was the left valve covet leaking got it from the dealer for about $200 300? Can't remember
My 3rd one I got it at 75k currently at 90k I've just done regular oil changes, diff, tranny, brake fluid, brakes, nothing expensive has came up. Just my passenger seat switch but blue dreamed helped me out on that :]

Blue dream, thank you for answering all my questions. You probably saved me a lot of headaches and a lot of money. With that topic being solved, would this 2005 Acura rsx be a safe purchase since it's my first car? He's agreed to sell it to me for 4K. Only issue of the car is that the trunk doesn't open lol. Thanks #g35 family

Seems to be a great choice. Highly economical car with reasonable mileage for a Honda. Ask your parents, they are likely helping fund you.

I would also recommend the RSX because it has been fanboy riced out with eBay crap parts. Good OEM stuff.
