hello, just found the site figured I could learn

Hello from California, my wife got a 2004 G35 from her daughter and its in need of at least a tune up. I am mechanical and do my own stuff but I have not worked on much that is not American made so here I am to ask questions. Nice to meet everyone so to speak. Mark

Mark welcome to the family. You're in a good spot to learn about the new G in your family, this forum is a gold mine of information especially for the DIY'er. Read, read and read some more before you ask your questions and you will probably find the answers you seek. The search engine here isn't very efficient so also use Google by starting out with " G35 Driver" then your search parameters.

We hope you enjoy your stay here!

Hi Mark, "Welcome to G35 Driver!" We offer a multitude of information about your new G35, read all the stickys at the top of the coupe page and follow the DIY posts. Between the two you shouldn't have any issues being a mechanic. When you need parts anything electronic like window motors stay with Nissan parts, aftermarket quality doesn't come close!
Again Mark, welcome and enjoy the ride...Gary

You'll quickly discover an appreciation for Japanese engineering, the electrical system is FAR superior in design over american vehicles, better encapsulation, better job taping the loom and dressing it in a fashion that still allows access to everything. Mechanical systems are straight forward as well, I strongly recommend you reference the factory service manual (FSM) for your vehicle here:

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/inf...e-manuals.html

The FSM starts at the FWD file.

One of the best parts about Japanese vehicles is you will NEVER need anything other than metric tools, I HATE HATE HATE how American vehicles use a mix of SAE and metric...
