Death Metal G

hi, i'm nick, i just bought a used g35x i am the 3rd owner 96k miles, i'm already replacing the rear calipers/rotors/pads, was quoted $1350+labor so instead i got aftermarket caliper & brake kit for $330 (powerstop anyone?) and will install it myself. i plan on doing a custom exhaust, slight drop, no more than 1-1.5 inches, spacers, and meaty tires. maybe a set of non staggered rays. full whiteline bushing replacement, some sway bars, and other end links and toight like a tiger, and i think that'll do it for me, if i want to go big i will do the autoshift kit and a better intake. if anyone recomends specific instructions for 06 g35x, i'd love some. switched to synthetic as soon as i got it, Gastrol Edge Full Synthetic High Mileage. car handles like a sweet fat bastard on a salt water taffy high, easiest car to drive fast. i know its probably slow for you guys, but this is the fastest shifting auto i've ever had, so i'm pretty happy leaving it in drive mode, although the stock exhaust drones in 4th & 5th. autostick is kinda miserable up in the high RPMs, so far Drive mode just keeps it comin without any violence. cold calm and quick. i never drive with VSC on, like DSC off in my mazdaspeed6 even in snow, am I doing it right? car is on Goodyear Assurances? anyone know about this tire? i think i may keep them as my snow tires on the stock 17s and replace with sottozeros when they die, and look for a pair of rays 18s during the off season to put some summer rubber on, was thinking of Firestone Firehawks, i dont track the car, just stop and go traffic and highways and around town North NJ, and some windy roads upstate NY.

Peace Among Worlds.

Welcome! My first G was a 2006 sedanX; sadly, it ended up in the insurance boneyard. It's a great machine. You will love the snow button. Your plans sound about right. I'd add a plenum spacer to the list. There really are no better intakes than OEM. Z-tube if you want a little more sweet noise when goosing the hamsters. Surprised you have drone, might not be a stock exhaust. Check your PMs; I can help you with the sway bars. Carry on!

Something to check if you think there's a delay in shifting at higher rpm's is the transmission ground, it's located at the front of the engine right in the middle. There are two wires that are grounded to the engine block, take out the bolt, brush up the bolt threads and the ground lug surfaces, apply some anti-oxidation grease and bolt them back on. A little electrical resistance causes a delay in manual shifting (auto too but it's not nearly as noticeable).
