New Owner - Help Needed
Hi all -
I have a 2004 G35 Coupe. This morning when I started her up the dash lit up and then everything died. She won't turn over or anything now. I have replaced the battery and there is no improvement. I honestly can't afford to take her to the dealer so I was hoping that someone may have an idea as to what may be the issue.
Thank you

Ok so you have no instrument gauges, no interior lights but you do have a beeping sound. I would start at the fusible link on the battery. Sounds like you lost one of the big fuses.
Also remove the battery cables and clean them thoroughly at both ends of the cable. Might just be corrosion.

That is exactly what it was. I found one at a junkyard that had an 06 and it fit perfect. I'm going back later to strip it for the rocker panels and anything else I can get for my car. The hoods been replaced by a carbon fiber one and I'm going to spray her with Raptor next month.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Help me understand something. You can't afford to have your car repaired, yet you have money to mod it. What's up with that?
I bought the car as is from a friend. It had the crabon fiber hood and other mods already on it. The junkyard that I got the part on was no charge. The parts I'm getting from the same yard aren't anything special so they're letting me take them as well as long as I remove them myself. The spray is a Christmas gift from the person I'm buying the car from as it is only primered at this point.

Ok so the part that bolts onto the positive side of the battery is called the "fusible link" and it has a number of fuses in it, use a flat blade screwdriver and remove the entire cover over the battery compartment, it's typically japanese body clips you take a small flat blade screwdrive and lift the middle of the retainer then pop the clip out. Once that piece is off check all the fuses in the fusible link, you should see a piece of metal in each one and if they're blown apart and not solid pieces then you have some bad fuses. It's pretty obvious when they pop it turns the whole inside of it's fuse compartment black or brown.
Always unbolt the negative side of the battery first, and attach last when reattaching everything.
