Talking Potential new 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan Owner

Hey all!

I've been looking for a G35 for the past few weeks, at the suggestion of a friend who knows a lot about cars! I would love your opinion on this one I am going to look at tomorrow. Please let me know if I've posted this in the wrong forum.

Here is the car: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sg...420572236.html

She is pretty firm on the price, and it is higher than KBB, but non-modified G35s are pretty hard to come by in my area. (I'm a pretty basic 28 yr old chick so I don't want any mods)

Two things I'm worried about: She recently had to replace radiator hose and clamps, is this a common problem?

I am also worried about the longevity of the car. 78,000 miles seems kind of high to me, though I know it is not high for that year. I want this car to last me till at least 150,000 without any major problems. Do you think it will? I know ya'll are a bit biased but I just want to hear your thoughts/experience

Thank you!

Ashley

Ashley:

Replacing a radiator hose on a eleven year old vehicle is not a big deal. 78k miles is low mileage for a vehicle of this age. I traded in my previous 06 G35 with 171796 miles.
My suggestion prior to purchase is to have the vehicle thoroughly inspected by an Infiniti dealer (around $150) and use any defects or needed repairs to negotiate the final purchase price. The dealer can also run the vehicle VIN number and provide a service history. Was the vehicle initially purchased in your state and never involved in any accidents or floods.

Good luck

Everything Telcoman said as well as a Carfax. On face value it LOOKS like a good car but I'm suspicious because of the "seems a little gangsta" language used in the advertisement. If the current owner has owned the vehicle for less than one year (what I suspect) then it was probably ridden hard for at least one year which isn't terrible but keep in mind if you want it to LAST then you will be investing in a complete fluid change right off the bat unless receipts prove it was recently done.

Transmission drain/fill (I recommend two flushes a couple weeks apart if there is no service history for the tranny)

Rear differential

Brake fluid

Power steering fluid

Obviously engine oil
