03 Desert Platinum Coupe

Hey everyone, my names Wally.
I've been lurking this site for about a year, and bought my 03 coupe back in November.
I figured I should introduce myself. Better late than never.

I dont have any fantastic pics yet, but I'll post what I do have

New rims. JNC 026 silver with machined face. 18 x 9.5 front 18 x 10.5 rear. Tires are Continental Sure Contact RX

Scosche dash kit painted black with LEDs swapped to white, and blue indicator for a/c.
Head unit is JVC kw-v830bt

Oh yeah, sorry it's a 5AT.

Bought it with 63k on the dash.
Replaced belts, O2 sensors, knock sensor, one cat, door lock actuators, window motors. Probably some other stuff too...

stock 18s were beat to hell, so I put snow tires on them and they are my winter wheels.

Had the infamous dead radio thing happen. Replaced headunit, door speakers, and rear lower speakers. JVC components up front with JVC coax rears. Bypassed all BOSE stuff to run a SKAR Audio 4 channel. Also added a SKAR Audio 8 inch sub in custom built enclosure powered by a SKAR mono amp pushing 1k Watts.

working on wrapping headliner in black suede. Pillars and sunroof cover are done already.

whole thing is a work in progress.

I would love to hear any questions or constructive criticism.

Holy 4X4 Batman!! With the 18" wheels (I really like the simple design of the wheels and the fact they're concave) and lower profile tires you really need at least a small drop to make it look great. But that's just my opinion of course. I love that Scosche rolled out an alternative faceplate for the 03-04's, I just can't stomach seeing a Metra in a G but I also know some people can't afford a hard to find JDM one. Stereo looks fantastic as well so great job.

Thanks for the welcome and compliments.

I agree that a small drop would look better, but I live in Chicago where the roads are terrible and winters suck, so I'm leaving the height stock for now. Considering getting something adjustable in the future.

19s or 20s would look good as well, but the prices of tires go up drastically so I stayed with 18s

the Scosche kit is not bad with the exception of the color match issue. After sending the kit back once and waiting a long time to still get a piece that didnt match, I just painted it.
the LEDs that came with the kit were orange but did not match the orange in the car. And the indicators were red. Not a huge deal, but I wouldn't have been happy with it.

I love Metra and the fact that they have products for the majority of cars on the road, but their kit for the G is poo. It makes me sad when I see people have clean installs but used the metra kit. I'm glad I came on here and read up before doing any work.
