Newer owner of an 05 G35 6MT

Hello all,
Thought i would get myself on here as i have a new to me 05 G35 6MT. I bought the car with 114k Miles on it. I daily the thing in the Minnesota roads here. I don't have good luck with the snow here, at all. I am now sitting at 125k after almost a year of owning the car. Nothing done to the car. Other than I had to replace the headlamps and the left front fender. I have to fix the right rear door trim on the outside. Got the car for a good deal for under 3500. Have had some people walk up to me an tell me that they would buy it for 5k. So i feel pretty good about the purchase.

Now I am looking to get the clutch replaced, I have been searching on here for a while. I want to keep the car CLOSE to stock. I wouldn't mind more power put out but in the winter here it is not a good idea.

Pleases feel free to let me know your opinions.

If it's just a daily driver and you're not concerned with performance then just pick up a DMFW for it, Exedy makes a good replacement. If you don't mind a little chatter and want to really make the car feel alive then look into a lightweight flywheel, I am currently using the Z1 Motorsports lightweight option and it's a whole different animal with this thing installed.

Won't make any difference in the snow tbh, it's all about launch traction and you will have to feather the clutch with either. Winter tires is really the only thing that will make a difference.

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I am actually looking at replacing the clutch now. It has now gotten to releasing at the top end of the stroke, I figure it is finally time. I reached out to the local shop to my work to see what it would cost. 1300... is the rough quote. now the Exedy clutch that they said is about 500.00 and i found that cheaper online of course.

Now i can cut that down some what but i want to make sure that i don't ding his business. i can bring in the part for him. But i think i will need to get the clutch kit and the Flywheel. just to make sure that we are good.

Next step will be lights. I need to make sure that the lights are working right. new ballast for the drivers side. it seems to be shutting off.

I would ask the shop about their policy with customer supplied parts prior to anything. Several of my local shops refuse to offer warranty on parts they install that aren't purchased through them.

I had headlight issues with my 05 sedan, one of the HID's flickering and turning on/off randomly. I tried cleaning the contacts on the bulb, and that helped, but it still flickered occasionally. I replaced the bulb and problem solved.
