Rattling behind rear seats

I’ve recently been having an annoying rattling coming from behind the rear seats in my 2004 G35x. I took off the seats to diagnose the problem and found this.

Not a big car guy, but is this my problem and if so what can I do to fix it?

Those are your rear shocks, they bolt to the chassis from below using those two little "round circles" next to it which are actually studs with a nut on them underneath the vehicle.

My preferred "shock test" is to open the trunk, stand inside it, jump up and down to violently rock the vehicle and see if it's making that same clunking sound they make when they go out.

They typically don't make a "rattling" sound though, I'd take out the carpet and spare tire and ALL the extra crap and start looking for something that got dropped into that area and fell into the body panels or something. Just a guess though, "annoying rattle" is sort of vague

Sorry for being so vague, I thought that I had included more in my original post. I know they are my rear shocks and believe they are the problem because the “rattling” happens when driving over rough road. To me it looks like a bushing rusted out of one side and that is the side that this clunky rattle is coming from. Do I just need new shocks?
