G35 6MT Brembo Coupe
Long time creeper first time poster

Hello forum

My name is Alex, located in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

I picked up my first G35 in June 2019 after blowing up the engine in my S14 drift car. Too much boost and oiling issues.

Finally put together, only to blow the engine on my first run.

Toast bearing

bye bye ring lands.

Picked up this bad girl for $4k with 140k miles on it.
2004, 6 speed, Brembos, carbon hood and grille, Oracle Lights. It has it's share of issues I'm working through.

The day I drove it home. Far from perfect but looked pretty decent.

I purchased the car to make it a ready to drive drift car. I didn't have time to rebuild the engine before the next events, so just buy a car that's somewhat capable. I welded the diff and sent it.
After every event, I picked a part that needed upgraded. Right away, I replaced the compression arms/LCAs because the bushings were DONE. The clutch was also toasted when I bought this car. After the first 2 events on stock suspension I upgraded to coilovers and added some arms to the rear.

Easiest decision when it came to adding angle. Only $180 for up to 60 degrees of lock!

Decided to go with ISR Pro coils, since this car was only supposed to last the year. I'm liking them!

Since I went lower, I needed the ability to adjust my caster, camber, & toe. I still need to get the bucket delete arm.

ISR Upper A-arm to adjust caster & camber.

Reasonable amount of angle for now.

Near 0 ackerman

So far this car has been great! Now I'm preparing it for Drift Indy Street League (DISL)
Design wise, I'm going to be going back to 18" wheels, fix some rust, and possibly doing a vinyl wrap.
Function wise, I need to get my bucket delete arm on the rear, solid subframe bushings, maybe new trans and engine mounts.
There's something wrong with it after my last event, because the shifter now sits about 1" to the right of center ???
Maybe a Hydro hand brake if I'm feeling like dumping more money. My S14 is indefinitely sidelined since I got this car

Anyway, here's some dope drift shots and I hope to be posting more often in this community.

Should take a look at your engine and transmission mount, shifter out of alignment means something probably broke. I'd start with the engine mount inspection since they're the more notorious ones to fail.

Looks like you're having fun

Sure enough, it was the engine mount that was torn.
Passenger side is under full compression and the driver side is decapitated.

I ordered these Z1 Engine Mounts a few weeks ago because I figured my suspicions were correct.

Now I need to figure out a good way to get to the top nut of the mounts
