Look for your local Japanese importer, they can usually get low mile VQ35DE for about $1800. Also check your local pick-n-pull although these engines are a bit of a pain in the *** to pull out yourself from a pick-n-pull unless you have a second person. Definitely not as easy as something like yanking an LS1 out of a Tahoe. There are also plenty of websites that deal in used motors, car-part.com is probably the most popular.

Since you have the non rev-up motor you won't have any problems finding a replacement. Just keep in mind the pilot bushing is different on the 6MT and 5AT engines but you should be putting in a new one anyways so it's not a big deal. Otherwise they are 100% compatible.

G35, M35, 350Z, FX35 all have suitable donor VQ35DE. You cannot use the transversely mounted ones from an Altima/Maxima, motor mount's are in a different location.

The VQ35DE was used in a LOT of other applications but with significant changes to parts of the engine, different heads, pistons, timing components, cams, etc. You want to get your donor motor from a G/Z/M/FX.
