Hey guys I’ve had my G35x sedan 2008 for almost 2 years now and im ready to start modding , however im not sure where to start so im open for any suggestions. Please Help

 

First mod I did on mine was the "Ghetto Air Box" mod. it opens up the air box on the inlet side. It results in a noticeably louder sound when you get on the throttle. No performance gain, all in the sound. Downside is that it will also give you a higher air inlet temp, which will chip away at performance. A better bet would be a true cold air intake that has the filters in front of the radiator. I currently have 20mm spacers on order for the rear shocks and springs which will even out the obnoxious fender gap difference. Also bought a NISMO 370z rear sway bar to swap in when I put the spacers in.

 

Personally, I wouldn't touch the intake as one of your first mods. The stock intake is pretty good, and you're not going to gain anything except some engine sound and air inlet temps, unless you go CAI like Joe has said, but then you're cutting up the front of your car to get it to go in. I'd say if you want more sound, change up the exhaust. Me, I think these have good enough get up and go from factory to where I don't think power mods need to be first on the list, but I'm also at sea level. So, I haven't done any power mods yet, and have been concentrating on: Things the car needs, brakes, suspension/stance, and appearance. The thing I always tell people to do first to any car is window tint and a sun shade for the windshield (preferably one model specific, trust me it's so much nicer when it's the same shape as your windshield). UV rays = steering wheel falling apart, warped/cracked dash, cracked leather, etc. Plus, I think it always makes any car look better, and keeps things you have to touch to drive from turning lava hot in the summer.

Anyway, for some ideas. Here's a list, some what chronologically, of what I've done: De-badged rear, Window tint , New front grill, Replaced shift ****, Polished headlights, Swapped interior bulbs for LEDs, LEDs for rear turn signals, Yellow foglights, Black and yellow plates, Upgraded rotors and pads, Wheel spacers, 1" lowering springs. You can take a look at my car in my profile to take a look at what no badges and the grill I installed look like. Though, haven't updated it since I've done the brakes, spacers, and springs.

Few on the To Do list: Chrome delete around windows and trunk, Stainless braided brake hoses, new control arms to fix my now messed up camber from lowering, exhaust, and round and round and round it goes. When does it stop? Nobody knows.

Welp, this got a bit lengthy, I apologize, but this is just stuff to get to my end goal of what I want the car to be. Which is a sexy, sleek, mean street machine that can hit the track every now and then. If you haven't, I suggest figuring out what you picture the car as in the end result, start small, and go from there. Or not and go big from the beginning

 

How did you do the Gloss Black on the grill? It gives me an idea for my grill.

 

It's an OEM part. I purchased it like that from an Infiniti Dealership. For the 2nd gen sedans they're not easy to find anymore
