Hey all, just picked up a 2004 g35x with 250000 soft miles. Previous owner installed plenum spacer, coupe exhaust and front control arms. I'm curious about the 75mm TB coupled with spacer (any gains at all) and any other simple mods or suggestions. Previous Nissan was a 1986 300zx 2+2 owned for over 10 years, thanks again
My suggestion would to not spend a cent on it besides essential maintenance and get a clean rear wheel drive one with some mechanical issues. Then by the time this one dies of old age you'll have that one fixed up for track driving AND a parts car/daily beater going forward. 250k is a lot for a VQ35 and you'll be diving into full rebuild territory soon if you beat on it too much which it sounds like you'll be doing asking about engine mods. Stuff like the timing chain, water pump, and piston rings are usually aging out by then and paying somebody to any of those starts at $1000 and goes waaaaay up

Having owned a 05 G35 with over 250k, I'd have to agree with cswlightning. That car that I had was meticulously maintained, and still had its quirks. Noticeable lifter tick, especially when cold. Previous owner only ran synthetic and did basic preventative maintenance throughout its life.
VQ's will last a very long time, as I've heard and seen cars reach over 300k miles in a daily driven fashion. They are maintenance critical engines however, changing and keeping an eye on the oil level is important, otherwise they can and will grenade!
I sold that high mile G after I bought an 04 G35 with 158k (now at 168k), and man does this 04 run and drive better. It needed some work with the paint and suspension as well as other maintenance, but all said and done, 100k less miles makes a huge difference. I just added a plenum spacer and replaced/fixed the knock sensor harness, and that made a huge difference, mainly the latter I would guess.
To answer your question, a 75mm TB can add performance, but for a car with high mileage I doubt it will be much of a difference. Plenum spacer is by far the best mod for the money, which you already have one.
I won't discourage you from putting money into your car, but definitely bear in mind that its a high-miler, and anything can go wrong without notice.
