Ive had a G35 for a few years now. I am at heart a Supra guy. When I purchased the G35 it just made sense. I was going to get a IS300 and drop the 2JZ-GTE and mod the R154 to fit it. All would have cost me what it would have been to get the G at the time. I've had a MkII (dropped the 7M-GTE) and a MKIII Supra (Dropped the 1JZGTE) however my favorite to drive was the 300Z. I purchased the 300 as a N/A and dropped the VG30DET with the Ash powers ECU, Hi Flow fuel pump and 615cc inj.
I do miss that car. It bent a rod in the drive way and I vowed to never go down that road again. The Supra's never did that to me. I was highly pissed. I disassembled the engine; the bearings were beautiful only boosting 12psi combustion chambers, top of the pistons and spark plugs all looked good. I felt betrayed/cheated... The G35 somehow reminded me of the look and feel of the 1990 Z.
I am here as I am ready to do some light mods. ( My understanding is I need to run different NGKs spark plug if doing any moding on the VQ35DE).
*Simple Cat-Back Not too loud something that looks almost stock (no fart cans)
*Vortex intake (Think this will be convenient getting to the valve covers etc)
*Tranny swap (Auto to 6MT)

Welcome to the forums, keep the stock plugs, you won't need colder until you go FI.
Only intake mods you need are the rev-up airbox and a 5/16 plenum spacer.
Exhaust is your preference, cats are the most restrictive point.
Uprev tune after those two mods will really wake the car up.
There's quite a few threads on the 6MT swap.
