Hi there. Been a member for a long time now, just never posted anything before. This forum has been a big help over the years. The pictures above are from last year when I drove around Lake Tahoe for my birthday. I had just finished painting my front and rear bumpers, installed new coilovers, did the Brembo swap, new rotors, brake lines, toe arms, and new bushings in the lower control arms, all done within 3 months. I've used this forum and YouTube as my guide to do everything as I had zero experience in any of it prior to last year. I've also used this site to address various check engine lights and a variety of issues I've had over the years. My most recent "upgrade" was getting my steering wheel controls to work again with my Pioneer head unit. Wish I would have done that 10 years ago. Car currently has 183k miles and still running strong. Looking at wrapping my car within the next year or so. Anyways... appreciate all the past posts that have helped me along the way, along with all the future ones.
Thanks,
David
great looking car with amazing scenery, seems to be in great shape as well. Paint looks really nice, curious why the wish to wrap? just want something new?
Thanks Chilli. Most of the paint is still in really good condition. However, I do have to repaint my front bumper as I just can't avoid the rock chips on the rural roads I take to get to work. DG is my favorite color on all the G's, but I've always had an itch to have a red G. I don't want to commit to a full paint job, hence the wrap, which is something I've never done before. Been watching some videos and figure I can do it myself at under $1k. Just need to narrow down the color red and over research, as I do with everything.
You could always paint the front then get a partial clear bra, 135k miles on mine with a clear bra and only 2-3 chips ever went deep enough to get past it. Lots of construction site gravel roads too.
Thanks Cleric. That's always the plan, but having to wait the 30 days to allow all the gases to escape before applying the film is what gets me. I was able to hold off driving the car for two weeks this time around, but the itch got me and I got a pretty massive rock chip a couple days after driving again. Oh well. At this point I can write a book on painting and repairing these front bumpers. Even though it's not perfect, everything recently has been done by own two hands and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Agreed. Hard to see some of the modifications people do to theirs, but everyone has their own tastes. Makes a stock one more rare.

Inven front, Impul sideskirts, and Chargespeed rear bumper looks almost stock. That's what I plan on doing to mine. Add some Akebonos and concave wheels. No engine mods, maybe the Stillen or Fast Intentions exhaust since they enhance the VQ sound.
