G35 Coupe Premium Package and Sport-Tuned Suspension Package
New Member - 1st Infiniti
Hi everyone, I just picked up a 2005 G35 Coupe with Automatic for my son. One owner family (actually 2 owners, a grandfather, then grandson). Car has 27,338 original miles! Very solid car, but does have its' share of curb rash on wheels, body dings and scuffs. My son and I are looking forward to having fun with this car. I have original window sticker that shows following options: Painted Splash Guards, Premium Package, Sport-Tuned Suspension Package, Trunk Mat
Hi and welcome on board! Congratulations on your ride. A lot of good info here regarding mods in case you are thinking of doing any. Check out some of the garages and you may get some ideas. Safe driving and happy modding!
Inspect your rear differential bushing, if it's still the OEM rubber one you should replace it with an aftermarket polyurethane bushing, the stock rubber one is the weak link of the vehicle.
Look up a youtube video on it's replacement, it's not difficult but most people make it a lot harder than it needs to be, just know that the subframe AND the outer race of the existing OEM bushing are both aluminum. I use a large holesaw to remove the rubber part of the bushing, then GENTLY sawzall (because it's aluminum) a couple slices into the race about 1/4" apart, then use a hammer and a flat screwdriver to pop the slices out, then screwdriver and "roll" the rest of that flimsy aluminum race in on itself. Just don't cut too deeply or you get into the subframe itself.
The front painted splash guards for the sport tuned suspension package are rare. Take care of those babies. No one is making aftermarket copies. The guards for non-sport coupe don't fit.

I wasn't aware there were two different versions of the front splash guards for the coupe. I purchased a set from a company in Japan earlier this year and the only part number differences were for the colors. (Yes, the parts are OEM.) What are the differences? I don't suppose you know the part numbers?
Edit: I just noticed the site states: "Compatible with: CPV35 Coupe MY before -Oct.05" So that's probably why (I have an '04).

It has to do with the side skirts on the cars with the sport tuned suspension. They have a different profile from the base model; there is a subtle "rising whoosh indentation" that I guess also alters the profile at the front wheel well.
