So driving home from work I wanted to have a little fun so I chucked it into manual mode (I have a 5 speed auto g35) and merged on to the highway a couple minutes later I notice my rpm’s we’re going a little higher than usual little bit later once it shifted it self into 4th I hear a whine coming from my car so I pull over. Started it back up and it was fine until it shifted itself into 4th again so the auto put itself into 3rd on its own while going to pull over again it seemed as if I was in neutral rpm’s were going up and nothing was happening but I was less than 2 mins home so I drove it home in 3rd gear so I am very confused on what this can be CEL did come on.
Can someone help?!?

Answered your other thread before I saw this one. U can try to replace the solenoid yourself and see if it fixes it. If not, then it will probably require a transmission rebuild.

I had an issue with a contact in my TCM breaking. I drove around for a day or two with my transmission behaving very similarly like your transmission. I fixed the broken contact but the damage was already done to the transmission. For the next few days it was running fine but then the transmission started slipping every now and then until it became undriveable. I ended up getting my transmission rebuilt in the end.
