Hey guys, Long time lurker turning into a member soon. I have the opportunity to pickup a G35X that's been decently maintained. Sadly I can not uploads pics from the work computer but am stoked to show you guys. Any tips or suggestions on what i should be really looking for besides knocking/ P0500-p0720 (Kiss of Death) etc. I've been out of the car culture for a while and now have my chance to get back in. Plus you can never go wrong with an Infiniti

Timing chain noise. It's usually the loudest right when the engine is started cold if it is loose. It sounds like some marbles in an aluminum can rattling when it first starts The cover is right in front. But if they kept up with oil changes, the chain assembly on these engines usually outlast the engine.

'08 the only thing you really need to watch for is P0011 or P0021, that's the galley gaskets behind the timing chain which can be costly if you can't do it yourself.
