New '06 Sedan Owner

hey guys, i've been obsessively reading this forum for the past week or so. after a few weeks of shopping i decided to get a G35, and yesterday i decided on the sedan.

This week I will be picking up a '06 G35 Sedan 5AT with Sport, Nav and Aero packages. It's black on black w/ Clear Armour installation. I'll be participating in the Northern Cali regional forum too.

Whoohoo, I can't wait! To think, I'm upgrading from a '01 Accord 4cyl :P

Definitely have questions about how to integrate my iPod with this car. Apple lists support for Infiniti on their homepage with a picture of the G35... but no news yet. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm also interested in care tips. Black isn't easy to take care of but I plan to baby this car...

absolutg, Congrats and a warm welcome to the boards. You'll be glad you have the Clear Armor installed. Yeah, I am waiting on the Apple Ipod kit, as well. Check out the Detailing section here, it has alot of info there. For the time being look here . . .

Perhaps, we'll all have a chance to see a brand spanking new '06 on the Santa Cruz run, eh?

I just got it and I do love it! Sooo much fun. just gotta get through this break-in period. there was a scratch on the driver's side door sill, but they promptly offered to fix it by replacing that part. the clear armor guys apparently put it in.

the car looks great, i'll post pics soon (too dark outside now)

well i'm close to 100 miles haha. drove around to friends' places to say hey and run random errands with them. the nav system is so awesome... of course, nav systems are new to me (never had a car with one) but damn, the infiniti system is pretty spectacular. birdview and the voice command's ability to cut in over music is great.

i'm not sure why people complain about the premium bose system... i'm liking it. decent range on what i listen to (hip hop, and some classical indian music).

i'm not sure i get how to use the manumatic effectively just yet. i'll probably play more with it after the breakin to avoid any potential problems.

i just have to set up homelink for my apt garage and the phonebook for that bluetooth goodness.

i did take a few curves pretty fast like i had in my lowered honda and wow, it's not even fair to compare the experience. the G felt so SOLID... loving it! i'm hoping to put on a few hundred miles this weekend.

one question: the owner's manual came in a leather case with two stripes of velcro on the back. where is this supposed to be attached? the salesman had no idea... suggested the trunk lol

Great question, I'm *still* trying to figure that out after a month!

I put mine up against the sidewall of the trunk. There is an indention on both sides where it fits almost perfectly. The first aid kit went on the other side.

Have you checked out the back seats yet? Reclining is all right!
