Angry Another Northern NJ break-in

I keep wishing I had caught the guy and I'm picturing myself smashing his skull in with a baseball bat. Fvcker took a crowbar to my door handle and tried to pry the entire lock mechanism out by brute force. Like the coward he is, he bolted the moment my alarm went off. Bitch took off fast cause I was out to my car within a minute of getting paged.

Apparently there aren't any "decent" parts of Newark. Parked in University Heights, a block away from UMDNJ, in front of a school, and next to a court house. Not to mention, the sun hadn't finish setting. Must have been there for 15 minutes max. Looking at ~$1800 in damages so far based on the rough estimate I got. But I have a feeling it might be more since the window rolls down in morse code, I can't open the door anymore from the outside, and if I do get it open from the inside, it takes several tries to get the damn thing to stay closed/locked. At least I can take some solace in the fact that he couldn't get into my car after having screwed himself with the hack job he did on the lock. Still, I wish I'd have tee'd off on his head.

My car has been broken into twice, I know how you feel, this is the main reason I've asked for a shoulder powered rocket launcher for Christmas. Make sure you have your valet key, from the talk on the forums, that is what they break into your car looking for.

Always sucks to hear news like this, hopefully your deductable is low. I see people that walk up to my car all the time to take a peek inside and then walk away. After that happened for the first time, I made sure I kept nothing in plain sight and then I tinted my windows just to be sure.

Sorry to hear this. Long time ago, in Chicago, coward smashed my door window on Mazda twice. Now I am paying $19 a day for parking while at work. Hopefully insurance will cover it and you can fix it soon and still have good time in Etown.

Unfortunately, I'm out for this Saturday. Got a big gaping hole that I'd rather not have rain water go into. Have to get the claim adjuster to take a look at the car. What fun.

Hey Diesel, what do you mean there is an easy way to break into our G's? I have never heard this. obviously dont say what it is, but is there anything to do to prevent it from being so easy? unless your talkin about just smashing glass.

The easiest way to break into our cars believe it or not, is to smash our windows with a brick. Its been a tried and true method for generations.

But honestly, from what I've come across on the threads is that if you send a jimmy down the window and wiggle it a certain way, the windows roll down. Not as cool as smashing a window but it works.

You can look it up, it's been discussed here and it's not smashing glass. Stick a screwdriver in the keyhole or something like that, and roll the window down.

WOW that really blows!! I am so sorry to hear that Just think how much worse it could have been if you didn't have that nifty paging alarm. I guess now would be a good time to shave your door handles off.

You might want to invest in a daily driver if this is going to be a reoccurring problem. My $5k 2000 ford ranger is the best thing i ever bought and i even get a multi car discount on my insurance. Case in point Friday on my way home from work some woman in a mini van rear ended me at a stop light and smashed my huge steel bumper all up and knocked my head unit right out of my dash. If I was in my G i probably would of gotten out and put my hand through her window lol but instead I was able to handle the situation in a rational manner.
