V1 setting in NJ

i bought a V1. aside from picking up car, i have only driven it on local roads (some windy) and haven't broke 4k rpms.

when i can open her up, will start using my V1. what settings do people use. i know it comes looking for all. but if you puch the button, it gets smarter.

looking for recommendations. if you can, name roads where you might adjust it.

I keep the sound off and in L (lowest) mode. Otherwise, you'd go nuts in this area.

I keep it on full pro-logic mode. You still get plenty of false alarms, especially on route 4 and 17, but you can't disable any of the bands since cops still use all of them in NJ.

Use whatever setting makes every signal, false alarm or not, come through to your detector. Believe me, its alot safer KNOWING when your gonna get a false alarm and ignoring it than "making it ignore" backround pings (like auto doors, security system, etc.) However, cops are people to, and like you, they know how radar detectors work. They will sit in an area that puts out a background ping to disguise their own radar gun. Best bet, leave it fully on, learn the roads, learn the normal ping spots. Oh yeah and in Jersey, stateys use X and X only so if you "filter" out the background pings, a stateys radar detector would be ignored until you were considerably closer to him than if you were in "highway" or the equivilent mode on a V1. IMO, its more worth it to deal with the noise than deal with the ticket.
