Infiniti Dealers in MA

Frequent reader, 1st time poster (I've always wanted to say that...)

Anyway, I've admired the G for a long time, but I've stayed away because of the NE winters. Now that the G is being offered in the AWD flavor, I'm in. So, I told you all that to ask you this: which is the best dealer in the Boston area (Norwood, Nashua, or Herb Chambers)? I'm leaning toward Herb C, but I just want to be sure. Also, as I don't live close to these dealers, do you know if I can have my future G serviced at a Nissan dealer? I know that I won't be able to get a loaner car at a Nissan dealer, but it's a worthwhile comprise.

Thanks in advance...

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

In my experience, Chambers is most inclined to deal, in my experience. Nashua will very quickly discount to their (high) price point, and then not budge. With some finesse & wrangling, Chambers will go as low as any deal you'll read about in these forums... fora, I guess.

Service is a crap-shoot.

Good luck! I'll tell you this: you're going to love the car.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

Bought G35 at Herb Chambers. Nice experience, and I hate going to dealers. Don't want to service there. Live in RI. INSKIP motors gave us a hard time when we needed service. Didn't want to give us a loaner. Had to go to Infinity corporate to get them to budge. I don't know if others have had problems taking their car to a dealership where they didn't buy the car. INSKIP also wasn't willing to go with the price that we offered. So, they never bothered to call us. Lost a sale.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

I actually had my best car buying experience when I purchased my G.
Infiniti of Nashua, call and ask for Brian Bonner.....he wont jerk you around.
If you go in prepared, ie: edmunds.com pricing or equivalent, you'll have a better handle on pricing.
And if he gives you any lip...........ask him about the "dopey discount" He'll know I sent you in.
Good luck

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

There are actually 5 Infiniti dealerships in the Boston area:

Kelly Infiniti in Danvers: they pulled a "call-back" on me and told me they'd renege on my order unless I made it non-refundable (I immediately cancelled). I've never heard anyone say anything good about them.

Norwood: I ended up buying my Coupe here. They struck me as "straight shooters," but nobody was offering any money off sticker on Coupes back in those days so I have no idea on how they are with respect to negotiating. I've heard minor complaints about their service department though, and I definitely won't be taking their complementary wash again in the future (bad swirling). But I'd buy another car from the guy I dealt with.

Nashua: All I know about them is that they're less than a year old and hired alot of the cream of the crop from the other dealerships, including some people from my bad experience at Kelly. I would imagine that's one of the harder places to work a deal, given that they must pay their sales staff extra.

Quirk Infiniti of Braintree: Only been open a few months. Quirk owns six other dealerships in Braintree and Quincy, some of which look rather shoddy, and none of which are luxury brands. I heard the Nissan dealership is supposed to be the exception though, so maybe that carries over to Infiniti.

Chambers: Never dealt with them.

But since you're interested in the G35x (the AWD version), which won't start selling until December, I wouldn't count on getting a great deal from any of them. If I were you, I'd figure out what you're likely to want for options, then call them up on a Tuesday (never on a weekend), ask for the "internet manager," and ask for their best price on the new G35x. Let them know you're going to call "one other dealer" that's a little closer to you, and hope someone wants to sell a car badly enough to offer cash off. If more than one offers a deal, make one last call to the second-lowest bidder, then take the best one on the table. I'd guess they'll all offer you the sticker price though. That's certainly what they'll tell you everyone else is doing.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

I just placed my order on Fri the 31st for an 04 6MT sedan at Norwood. They have been pretty nice to deal with over the past couple of months. They gave the the same price as every other dealer I've been to until I went in on the last day of the month. I got the price I wanted...... g35driver.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=1&Number=130278&page=0&vie w=collapsed&sb=5&part=

Shads, who are you dealing with at Norwood? I'm waiting on my September order coupe from them.

Mike-

Toby is who I've been dealing with. For a first week of Nov order she said it will probably get here in the beginning of Feb. After this weekend of 20+ inches of snow, I'm so glad I decided to keep my 96 Chevy 4X4 and not trade it in. Using the truck for winter/crapy days is going to be nice to keep my G in great condition. Whenever I get the G !!??

Interesting. I've been working with Toby as well.

I know what you mean about the snow. I'll probably have my coupe by Christmas, but won't get to drive it until you get yours. ;-) I'm attempting to keep my GTP to drive in the winter, but after the insurance quote I got the other day, I'm not so sure now.

How did you get a quote? Did you get your VIN # already? I was told by my MetLife guy he couldn't give me an exact quote in MA without the VIN #, just a ballpark price quote. He gave me a range of about $1200 to 1500 a year for the 6MT sedan. If you don't mind me asking, what did you get quoted for your coupe?

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

I bought my G35MT at INSKIP in RI. They didn't move much on the price, but, I think their service is first rate. I've had no problem getting a loaner to use, the car is taken in immediately, and they clean the car spotless after each service. The service department is definitely their strong point.

Sorry I didn't reply to this right away. I didn't get an email this time saying there was a response, and I read the forum on FA more than I do here. For the first quote I got, I just found a coupe with the same options as the one I ordered, on Infiniti.com's dealer inventory and used that VIN. My actual VIN showed up on infiniti.com a good 2 weeks ago, even though the car hadn't arrived yet. I was quoted about 1500/yr as well. However, I'm trying to keep my current car to drive in the winter, and they wanted $2300 for both cars, and that was with dropping collision on the current one. I searched around and Progressive came in about $500/yr cheaper than my current company (Liberty Mutual) for both cars, so I'll be switching. Keep in mind that I do reside in RI.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

Mike-
No biggie on the reply. I guess I should be fine with the insurance cost. I was trying to set my budget but without an exact number, I didn't know what I was really going to pay for insurance. Getting the low mileage discount ( < 5000 mi/yr) on my truck (whenever my G gets here) and living in Acton is going to set me at about $1800 to $2000 / yr for both. Don't ask me why but Acton is one of the lowest insurance cost towns in MA, that's fine with me. I thought I might regret keeping my '96 4x4 pickup, but after last weekend's 2 feet of snow and now this Sunday night's 6 to 12 inches expected, NO regrets. One other thing, how did you get your VIN # off infiniti.com? I looked through the entire site and can't figure out how you got your #. Thanks for the info.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

Shads, Yours is a November order, so it won't show up until Feb or March in the dealer inventory on infiniti.com. Assuming it's built in December, the dealer might be able to get you a VIN in January.

Re: Infiniti Dealers in MA

MARCH ?!! You're killing me! Toby said the latest would be mid Feb. I'm having a hard enough time with that time period. Maybe I shouldn't think about it until I get my call that it's here. Naaah.
