The meter maids in Boston are vicious. If you don't pay the meter or park illegally, YOU WILL get a ticket. There's like a 1% chance that you won't get a ticket. They're very efficient in Boston. I've seen them drive around in vans when it's cold or raining out...they drive by just scouting for violators...when they spot a car, they hop out, ticket you, and continue searching for the next violator.

It is racist.. but it's not far-fetched.

I'm not racist, so don't take it wrong.. but I had someone maliciously break off the side-view mirror on my car when I was parked in the garage at Fenway while hitting up clubs on Landsdowne Street. I was parked near a wall, so nobody parked next to me.. I'm pretty sure it was the super-duper-ghetto guy who worked there that did it to my car too, cus he was copping attitude with me for no reason at all when I was pulling in.

What a *****. I'm almost definite it was him, because he wasn't working when I got back to my car 2 hours later.... shift change, or he just left to avoid the consequences of his actions(most likely both).

I'm from Southeastern Mass, near Taunton. G is in hiding for the winter until the salt dissipates, which won't be anytime soon with the snow we're getting tomorrow night.

 

^^We're all a little bit racist/prejudiced against people who are unlike ourselves, deep down. It's impossible not to be. So don't worry about it. Sometimes it's just easier to point to the obvious physical differences (skin color) and call them names based on that when you get angry with someone (not that it's fair, but I find myself doing that sometimes too)
What's unfortunate is that everyone seems to focus on the color of one's skin or the other person's cultural background when making prejudiced, angry comments...when what really matters is their socio-economic background; that is to say, disadvantaged (aka poor and uneducated) people statistically perpetrate more crimes than those with better education and a higher income. It's just a fact. Unfortunately, it seems that in America there are some racial groups who are historically and statistically more prone to being disadvantaged than other racial/cultural groups. It's usually poor, uneducated people who do the most vandalism. I mean, you really don't expect to see a college-educated guy in an Armani suit keying your car or bashing your side mirror in, do you?

Anyways.... You're from Taunton. Wow, we really do have people from all over Massachusetts. I'm out in Natick myself.
