Yeah the weather is warming up so let me know when you are ready to the grounding kit. No more standing outside in the cold installing engin parts!

I just put my clear corners in today in my work's parking lot +10hp!!!

I'm waiting to autocross a few times before I do any performance mods. I want to see if I can feel the difference. So late/spring early/summer is when I'll start to drop some cash into the car. But I still made up a shopping list.

Cold Air Intake
3/4" Plenum Spacer
True Dual Exhaust
Clear Markers [CHECK]
Underdrive Pulleys
Final Gear
Weight Reduction
Racing Wheels 17"/18"
Tires 245F/275R
Stage 2 Break Kit

Hows that look for a 2007 goal? I'm really excited about changing out the final gear. 1300$ for the parts, what would you think the labor on that would be?

If I have the money by the end of the year I'd like to be able to pull 300+hp to the wheels out of this car N/A. That means flywheel and clutch would also need to be added to the list, ECU also. Then things start to get $$$. But I doubt I'll have the moola unless I get a bonus (doubt it), or someone with money in my family dies (which happens to be only me).

Gavin--

300+whp with an n/a requires alot more than that.. you'll need to look into cams etc. Our cars put down low 200ish rwhp on the dyno. Anything over a 50 rwhp gain.. you really have to start looking in f/i.

The final gear is a great mod for autoX, but it really messes up the mileage/cruise control on highway driving. Your 6th year is around 3k at 80mph with the stock gearing.. you would be pulling alot higher than that rpm wise with a shorter fd, which kills gas mileage and makes the engine work a bit harder than it would do on the stock fd.. Depending on which fd you get, you might lose your cruise control.

Out of that list, I would take out the UD pulley also since they are more trouble than it's actually worth.

In trade of both those mods, I'd do a Technosq reflash since alot of people say it's worth it.. If not.. you can throw a Utec on there and get a real dyno tune.
Just thought Id' share some info on those mods before you start your shopping spree!!

Labor--- If the wheels don't come mounted, you'll look at around 60-100 bucks for them to be mounted and balanced.

The install for the i/spacer/e/pull/brakes would probably be around the $500 area depending on where you go. Aside from the pulleys and brakes, the intake/spacer/exhaust are direct bolt ons.. you can probably do them on a weekend in you driveway!

Yeah I know 300+ to the wheels would be rough (lots of this $$$) for a NA car. But definaly would be something to be proud of. Getting that final gear would probably make the car feel like 300+ hp. Just doing some quick math that would make the car feel like it had 10% more hp then it actually does. Not 10 horses, 10 percent. At 250hp that would be like adding 25hp to the wheels. Something to think about for all you FI guys that already make 350+ . I think it's a great mod for the price.

EDIT: How does the Cruise work? Is is based on RPM, speed, or does the computer calculate it? Or do you mean I won't have cruise because the car will be thinking I'm already doing over 90 (thats the max cruise speed right)?

Another item, where is the speed reading taken from? Before the final gear or after the final gear? But thats in the safe direction as far as speeding tickets go, isn't it?

EDIT#2: I just took notice that the government is giving back 1351$ of the money I lent them this year . With tax that final gear comes to 1365$, those numbers match up nicely!! New York is paying for the shipping (51$) and PA is picking up the rest (32$). Unfortunaly Mass is trying to prevent me from modding my car (I owe 16$). lol

Yea man me and some friends always called the FD a "Poor man's supercharger". Alot of my S2k friends have them in their cars.. it does make a HUGE difference!

Question for Downshift. Are they just troublesome to install or do they have other negatives? I thought this was a good mod.

For the winter I have been doing:

Interior detailing
Stereo system parts and install planning
Hardwire radar detector
Refinishing a set of used Brembos for spring install.
Washing off salt constantly...

I'll believe that after I dyno with them on

I already own pully pullers from my last car. What I'd have to take the raditor off? It would be a good learning experience.

I'll definatly do more research before putting any parts on my car to see if its worth it so my list is tenative and subject to review.
