THE RUN. UPDATE as of 5-5-07

Looks like the event is going to kick butt, no matter how you look at it. The route has been formulated, but as I stated in previous posts, it will not be released until the day of. Please, please, please DO NOT BE LATE. There is no way of getting you the route information if you miss the start, and we are standing firm on the decision not to release it ahead of time. It is also slightly different from that of NEMR 2, last fall. I recommend to everyone an arrival time of 7:30am. That way you can hang a bit, and get a good look at the directions, and get gas if you need it.

There WILL NOT be a stop for gas during the drive up, so please fill up before the start. There is a Sunoco Station right next to the Basketball Hall of fame. The total drive distance for the run is approximately 110 miles with about 90 miles of unrelenting twists and turns. We will most likely be communicating with walkabouts for those of you who have them. Cell phone signals are absent in some of the remote regions we will be travelling through.

Finally, the rain date is for the following Sunday, May 27th. The final go ahead will be posted on this forum on Friday, May 18th.

 

As of 5/13/07, forecast is showing 72* and sunny. Excellent! Lets hope it stays this way.
