Hey N.E. peeps..
Im thinking about organizing a mini meet for saturday may 12th @ 4 pm. This is for CT and whomever else wants to join from surrounding states. The location will be on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington but have not decided on the exact parking lot yet.. we can all meet, go for a little cruise up and down the pike and eat/drink at one of the 20+ resteraunts on the pike, including a Hooters. This is just to get an idea of who would be interested.. once there is some interest, ill post an official list and location.. I think this should be enough time for people to get there cars ready and make some time for a satruday afternoon..

where is this in relation to Amherst, MA? As in, is it west, central, or east CT? I might see if I can make this meet after the Umass Amherst show depending on what time this starts.

 

hey 888.... how have the cops been on the tnpke since the weather warmed up?

 

im in, and from what ive been hearing, cops are out in full on the weekends.

I know a few people that hang out there regularly, i hear about a bunch of fights.

 

Its in Central CT in the town of newington..

 

The turnpike for years now has been a big hang out place for car enthusiets.. the cops are out on Friday and Saturday nights just like everywhere else but they know lots of cars race so they keep an eye out for that kind of thing. Dont race or do 150mph and it should be a rather enjoyable day..

 

I dont hang out there on a regular basis and the ones that do usually drive Civics and go to High School so im sure there are some stupid "you stepped on my Pumas" fights..
other then that, we are all mature adults with nice cars and we can meet to check oneanothers out and make some new friends..

They seem to also be taking a new interest in 691 between 84 and 91, I saw 3 un-marked running over 75 up and down, and the silver expidition had someone pulled over, middle of the day, and the tricky part was the spotter.

There was a state cop on an ATV with a radio up off the highway in the weeds on the west bound side, and he was sitting and watching. He was impossible to see from the east bound lanes even after you passed him cause he was at least 20 feet above the roadway on a little break in the weeds looking out over both lanes. I saw him cause I was going towards 91, but even then not until I got within a 1/4 mile.

haha, its true though, i dont go back to my hometown often, so i gotta be home for that weekend cause i got a dentist appt and what not, just a cruddy weekend if it was the following or prior weekend would be great

 

I don't know if I'm going to be able make it out, I'll have a better idea come Saturday-Sunday.
