That is really scary to be minding your own business and wham. Glad to hear no one was hurt and the car protected you. I did read recently that the G is one of the top rated for crash safety.

A girlfriend of ours had something similar happen just two weeks ago in a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon with her 10 year old son in the back seat. Fortunately, they are ok as well but for a little whiplash. Makes me wonder as people are going for smaller and smaller cars to save gas and putting themselves at risk. The more metal you have between yourself and the next idiot the better I always say.

Wow. Glad you and your girl made it out with minimal injury.

Did the drunk driver get injured at all?

The shift lever stayed on Drive and didn't wanna go back on Park at all. I was pushing hard to make it go on Park and nothing.

The driver of the SUV was ok I guess. He didn't say anything though, just like shocked! There was a passenger with him and they were like they don't know who was driving to kind of save their ***. I said oh really, let's see when the cops get here. He was arrested on the spot! I told the cop give us ALL a breath-a-lizer test and they were both way beyond the limit. I was sober as can be.
