Should I bring my G?

Hi All,

I'm from Socal and bought my G sedan beginning of this year. Recently though, I just found out I may be moving to Boston for a job. My questions for all of you Boston natives is, should I bring my G with me or should I go back to my Accord. I've heard parking and driving is a bitch there, plus added the harsh weather conditions, I'd be concern for the premature damage that it would cause. I'll only be there for about a year or so, so I think I can just suck it up and live w/o my G. What do you guys think I should do?

Do you have Chrome rims? They'll get wrecked up here. But other than that, you'll be ok.
If you're only going to be here for a year, it won't be that bad either way...with or without the G. The G won't take too much damage if you do bring it, and if you leave it at home, it'll only be a year before you get to drive it again.

Are you actually living IN THE CITY? or a suburb? It's a pretty big hassle to park in the city.. New England Region Forum on the Scooby forums... www.nasioc.com has a good thread on Moving to and parking in Boston. Mostly for the college students that are moving here for school that want to keep their cars..

I know a few Cali G guys that have their cars here, but they also pay for good secluded parking etc. The G would be fine in Boston, just like any city.. you need to be careful where you drive etc. I think last time I talked to one of my Cali friends that brought their G's over.. it was around 600 bucks to ship?

I'd say do it.. because you'll regret it when you see people driving their cars around town!

Like down shift says, it's a huge difference if you're living in the city or the burbs here. In the city it will be annoying to drive/park any car, and depending on where in the city you live there is a potential for break ins with a nice car (my GPS smash and grab incedent in southy really pissed me off). In the burbs where I live it's totally different, private driveway, slightly better roads, no worries. If you're extremely **** about your car and planning to move to the city you will be stressed and rim scrapes/bumper scrapes/door dings will probably happen at some point, pot holes are an everyday reality. In my opinion City- bring the accord, Burbs- G it up.
