Insurance Question

A few months ago, I was rear ended at a stop light by a Dump Truck. I was waiting a red light to turn right, he was behind me and said he couldn't see my "small" car. He hit me once and i was pushed forward, and he hit me again and finally stopped. He said he thought he hit a pole the first time. Completely his fault and he admitted it.
We called the cops and traded insurance info, he has AIG. I got my car repaired thought my insurance company which the cost was a little over 5,000. Just recently, they paid my insurance for the repair and I got my deductible and rental fees back.
I was trying to find out if I am entitle to some depreciated value for the accident. 5,000 is a lot of money for repair and it was a dump truck who hit me. What I am unsure of are the policies for NJ insurance companies. I tried doing some research online on the issue, but didn't have much luck. I was trying to find out the value of my car before and after the accident, and if I did have a loss if I could get that back. Any suggestions

insurance

well if the bodyshop fixed the car correctly the value of your car will stay the same as another 03 like yours like in my shop all repairs are covered for the life of your car so technicly your car should be pre collision worth and condition if not speek to your agent you can complain about the quality of your repair ,hope this helps,

That makes sense, i forgot about the guarantee. But does this carry over if I sell the car?

Your car does have now lower value! Your accident was most likely recorded and during sale it will show on carfax report. I would ask a dealer for estimate of deprecated value and than send to insurance co. for reimbursement.

Dovla is right...carfax doesnt lie...and while that doesnt effect a KBB rating, it might influence a potential buyer - therefore causing your car to be "worth" less on the market.

I wouldnt worry too much about it...not much u can do
