Please read...important to all

I just got this in an email from SEMA. Please read the instructions so that we can fight this legislation.

There are much worse things to fight against in this state other then a modified exhaust law. Which is why I am looking for a new employer. Why the fack did I ever move here anyway?

Hopefully some more interest throughout this week....legaslature has the idea that if they stop us making exhaust mods, then they will stop street racing. Personally I don't agree with street racing, unless, well.....F-it, i do it sometimes.

Anyhow, my point is that the two should not be seen as related. Next thing you know, they will find a way to ban other mods, then what will happen to car shows etc....and i don't mod that much, but it still pisses me off.

There has already been a modified exhaust law.
When they get you for loud exhaust, the law they ticket you for is for "modified exhaust".. so even if you say your exhaust isn't that loud, you still lose.

This law they are trying to pass has been in the works for a few years. It basically states that any sale or installation is ILLEGAL. It never goes through. Mostly due to the fact that, if they do ban aftermarket exhausts.. it would monopolize the exhaust where consumers are forced to purchase OEM factory exhausts. This can cause a # of problems, some are.. pricing of OEM dealership exhausts.. and some older cars have discontinued production exhausts.

This is old news.
Not my problem you guys have loud exhausts. You guys chose to buy them and throw them on your car. I've had my fair share of these tickets and I've learned my lesson. I have a Fuji, but I chose the quieter than stock route.
