Check Bridgeport and Shelton too. Bridgeport has some stuff in the $900 range, and in Blackrock Turnpike area it isn't too bad.

As for Shelton, pretty much the closest town you can get to being in Fairfield country without paying for it. About 30 mins from Norwalk (though I don't know where you are working).

There are some nice places in the north end of bridgeport you can get for around 1k a month.....Blackrock also isnt bad i know a few ppl that live over there, one person rents a one bedroom for like 550 a month....

my office is going to be out of norwalk off the Merrit but i will be a Network Engineer Consultant working the fairlield county area as well as Manhatten..
i just dont want to spend all the extra money on rent...

 

BTW: there seems to be some interest in my winter wheels so before i post in the wheels for sale forum, ill give all you guys first crack at it..

Most of Bridgeport is a ghetto, however where I was referring to, Blackrock area, is pretty decent. Its still within Bridgeport, but I definitely would not classify it as ghetto. I know a few people who live there and don't have any complaints so far.

If you want to spend less on rent you have to stay out of Fairfield county, simple as that. From Shelton you can get to the Merrit or 95 via Rt 8 for an exit or 2. It takes less than 20-25 mins to get to Fairfield from Shelton, and about 30 mins to get to Norwalk.

 

I live 2 seconds off the merrit, in the north end of bridgeport, right on the trumbull border....

Why not live in danbury then if you wanna save money on renting, shyts cheap over there.....

I know somebody renting a little two bedroom house for 700 a month, garage, everything....

And norwalk is right down route 7...
