OK North Easterners

How was your car in the recent snow storm? My new G35 is still parked in the driveway with 24 inches of snow on it.

Well, it ain't no 4X4, but for a rear drive, 260 HP vehicle, I am very impressed with its manners in the snow. Short of doing something really stupid, I just cannot get the car to slide all over the place. Too bad there isn't a manual override for the traction control/ABS. Took the car to an empty parking lot to try some donuts a couple of weeks ago, and just could not spin it that easily. I have a feeling I will be replacing the rear brakes quite soon with the constant appearance of the slip light in my 3 mile commute. Also, if what others say about the reviews of the Michelin Pilot's, traction in the snow should get even better!!

Not this storm but last one about, 6-8 inch's g sedan was impressive !if you take the vdc off you could do donuts all day!
but in snowy icey conditions it was very responsive to cut power to a slipping tire. much mutch better than expected! ofcourse with vdc on.

Re: OK North Easterners

Hey jmtbkr, actually there is a manual override of the traction control system in your coupe. It wont turn off the ABS brakes, but if you hit a little button that says VDC OFF in the lower left hand column of the console beyond your steering whee3l , it will turn off the traction control and vehicle dynamic control and you can do donuts all day long!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do sales for a local Infiniti dealership and have shown a few customers who really want to rip their car around how to do this. Best suggestion I have is once you find the button, go to an empty parking lot with snow and ice, turn the wheel all the way to the left and floor it with VDC on. Then turn it off and a light will appear on your dashboard saying VDC OFF and do the same thing, but be CAREFUL, the vehicle will do lots of donuts. Have Fun and God Speed.

Ah ha! always wondered what that did. Thought it just turned off the vdc by itself. Can't rmrember where I saw(maybe manual) a separate button that turned off the traction control, but not available in my car. Must be where the dummy cover for some unused button is.
Oh well, now I'm sure to have some fun -lookout middle school parking lot, here I come! (such a kid!)
