^Just make sure that the closed end has a gear so that way we can just put it on and spin it around.

lol.. I'm assuming you guys got stuck on the part where you have to take the spring off the oem strut.. and you need a angled box wrench with a regular wrench to get it off? just taking a stab since I think Wil is re-using the stock struts?

If that's the case.. go to home depot and pick up a open box wrench

Yeah as long as we have that ratchet we chould be all set.

 

I had to cut off wheel and then metal chisel my strut mount bolts lol. This is simple on paper and a ball buster once you have it on the ground. Too bad you guys live so far away my house is like a home mechanics dream. Air everything and I got 2 sets of everything.

 

If you guys can't get the spring compressor.. then just loose it and aim it at a wall or across the street.. luckily the Htechs will be shorter so you don't need to compress them lol..

We forgot our camera, but I don't think anyone would of wanted our 13 hour tutorial on how to install lowering springs...and the time may actually go up because I'm hearing a horrid knocking sound on the front right area while driving...

 

^ . What's it sound like? We tightened everything up and we double checked. Are you sure we didn't leave a compressor on the spring

 

It sounds exactly like something is loose and making a clunking sound. Jon, Arcadi (sp???) and I stopped and jacked up the front left, but everything looked tight. Not sure what it could be...I may jack it up here at work and take a look during my lunch break or something. Are you around tomorrow to maybe jack it up and see as well...if I don't see anything today?

 

^I'm free tomorrow until about 2pm and then from 4 pm after.
Check the rear too. it could be the springs trying to settle themselves in. If your not busy today bring the impact wrench and I'll quad check everything again. I'm gonna yank out my interior today and give the G a full cleaning inside . This time I'll be able to get all those hard to reach places and I want to shampoo my carpet.

 

I found a thread that Jon created after he installed his springs. Its the same exact symptoms! hahaha. I don't think he mentioned it last night though. It looks like it could be the strut bearing is not torqued properly. It definitely is the front right though. I may jack it up at work and check it out...though I don't think I have all the tools I need.

 

^Okay cool just let me know. We can always retorque everything down (impact wrench style of course )
