NY temp plates?

maybe someone can help me? I'm looking at buying a coupe in NY state but i need to know if they have temp plates so i can drive in back to maine to register there.

go to dmv and get an in transit plate from dmv.... they''ll give u a form why you need it and where you are registering the car
