failed NJ inspection for... =O

so i took my car in for inspection today at the infamous dmv site in wayne nj.. i took off my front tints and was a bit hesitant about my clear corners.. but to my surprise.. i still failed...

i failed for not having a shift indicator and having aluninum pedals..

wow.. out of all things.. she must of wanted to give me a hard time..

anyways.. i did not want to argue since i left my insurance card at home.. will go back tomorrow and see what kind of "shift indicator" i can put in my car..

What is a shift indicator?

Also you should just find a shop that are not d!cks about little things like pedals.

Tell her a tachometer is all the "shift indicator" anyone needs, and that they are the only "shift indicators" on the large, large majority of factory vehicles.

Then give her a mushroom tattoo for your trouble

If the pedals are a factory option, which they are, they can not fail you.
What shift indicator are they talking about? If its auto, you know its in the gauge cluster, Did you change your manual shift ****? If so, just print out a shift pattern and temporarily tape it to the console......A$$hats at NJ inspection.....

I put my amber bulbs in my clear corners when I went, and installed my front plate temporarily......I still thought they would nail me for the blue reflection of my aftermarket fog/high bulbs.....but I guess they didn't notice it.

when they say shift indicator, they mean the numbers 1-6-R

It's true... if you don't have this anywhere near the shifter, then its good enough reason to fail inspection.

It's stupid, i know. but thats just the way it goes.
