I agree with you here. You're better off just hitting the brakes & bracing yourself & hit the animal. Back in the 90's (wow, I'm old) a former high school classmate was driving his car w/ his younger brother in the car. A deer jumped out in front of them on a local road, they swerved to miss the deer, hit a tree & his younger brother died. I highly doubt his brother would have died if they hit a deer. Either way, you're 99% likely to crash your car, so might was well go for a higher chance of survival & risk killing the animal.

BTW - Glad you're okay! How fast do you think you were going when you hit the rocks?

i've seen some pretty bad deer car accidents tho, and sometimes its just first instinct to swerve... I personally am satisfied with the safety of the g, good to hear you walked out of it safely.

I got an update yesterday. The adjuster considered it a total loss. She said she went there with the intentions of fixing it but after actually sitting in the car for a few minutes she had to call it a total. She also sid she was suprised that I walked away from the wreck. She has never seen someone drive that fast into a wall and just have minor scrapes and bruises. I think it has something to do with me hitting the cliff with the other sie of the car and the fact that the infiniti is a well put together car. I would buy another one just for the safety aspect of it...

you can strip it only if you replace it with stock parts or you can buy the car back from the insurance company. you can not strip it and leave the part missing

Wow....
Yeah, Coyotes bring less damage than cliffs. I hit a coyote on the highway doing 80 and I ended up with a cracked front bumper and a broken windshield washer tank.
Looks like you may have slightly more damage.

Glad you're okay.
