MA members: Any dealings with non-factory dealerships for a G35x?

I am looking now at the market for a 2006 G35x but I am not buying until the spring when our lease is up on our Acura MDX. There are some great prices on low mileage G35x's at some of these "mom and pop" places like CarLux in Westboro and High Line Group in Lowell.

1. Anyone have experience with either of these.
2. Recommend another dealer I should look at?
3. Any advice on dealing with this type of dealership.

Thanks
Mike

Sorry, but I don't have any experience w/ them. Do your homework (obviously) on pricing and you might want to have the brakes checked, as even though there may be low miles, I've heard of others on here that needed new pads at 20K miles (depends on the prior driver).

Good luck & sorry I don't have any experience w/ used car buying.

i bought my car used but not at the dealers you stated. I went to automax in framingham they have good cars but their prices aren't negotiable. They do have reasonable prices though took me about a month to finally get my g look on cars.com they have a lot of cars at various places hope that helps

there are plenty of '06 G35x's around. just search online but you can always request a service history on each vehicle as well. PM me if you do need help when the time comes

I work in Framingham and dropped in there today to check out their inventory. I am expanding my search to a M35x as well. I thought Automax's prices were very close to what I am seeing at Inf. of Nashua and Norwood which seem to be the better ones in this area. I can be pretty blunt with car salesman and I had a nice "man talk" with the guy today, for used car guys they seem to be ok/no nonsense.

I highly suggest you test drive both cars then. Not sure what you're looking for in a car and not sure of your age, but I'm 32 and love my G. I have had an M35 loaner car before and the performance in that car doesn't even compare to the G. Just my $0.02.

Jimmy,

#1 priority is reliabilty which both cars are tops in. I'm 36, a real car guy so the G35x appeals to the sports car guy in me but really what I want is a comfortable sports sedan AWD/FWD for < $24k that has enough room for the wife & 2 kids when needed and on my commute to work is fun on the twisties. What drew me to the M35x was the extra interior room when you are 6'5 270lbs like me (thick build not beer belly) that's aplus. We almost bought a 2006 G35x back in Nov 05 when we had kiddie #1 but we wanted more trunk room so we got a MDX. I used to own a Maxima which I loved so I am sorta drawn to Nissan products.

I still have a few mths to go before I am going to pull the trigger, i am hoping to see the prices come down on the M35x before I really decide on one because the cheapest isn't always the best.

BE CAREFUL. that's all the advice i can give. i bought mine in lynne on the lynneway, i checked the carfax, nothing, thought i checked it fairly well but not well enough... it had the front bumper repainted(shoddily at best) and its peeling under the headlights... right now you can barely see it. additionally it seems they painted it ON THE CAR, and the passenger wheel has overspray on it. i have a full size spare and when i told them they just switched out the spare... and of course i didn't check the spare when taking delivery...

just be careful, and you'll get a great deal.

Dude I'm from Lynn originally and would NEVER EVER buy from one of this Shysters on the used car lots. Pride/Atlantic are the ones I would buy from there.

I am really having a tough time deciding on a G35x and Acura RL right now but fortunately I have 5 mths before I need to buy anything. I am going CPO regardless to avoid exactly what you are referring to.

I bought my 07x fully loaded with every package except sport. If I told you the price you wouldn't believe me. The car is clean 1 owner ultra low miles. Carfax clean, I checked the car for repaints or body work, nada. For the price I got this car..

at a Dodge dealership that made 400 bucks on the sale? They must've been really hurting.

That said, I would NEVER do business with Auto Bahn USA . First time I came there for a maxima, clean title, carfax was completely peachy. I start the car it runs like crap, I can see overspray under the hood, sloppy mess. OK so I give then the benefit that they might not have known.

FFW a few years, I am in the market for G35. I get there, it's the 2005 version. This time car looks great, sounds great, a 6 speed (purrs). Carfax clean as a whistle. He goes inside after test drive, I stay to take a look..start finding over spray in tiny areas under the hood. Don't get me wrong..they did a great job on this car..may have been a fender bender..but whoa...shady business as shady can get. I mentioned it to the guy and he gets a little uneasy..tells me yah they don't know if it has been in an accident or not but I'm free to have it checked out. I tell him lower the price on the g, he tells me to take it to a shop first and then we can talk how low...

SHADY

They sell a lot of foreign cars mercedes, infiniti, bmw now. But I have a wry feeling that those cars have all been through something, they may only be buying up clean titled/carfaxed cars. Fixing them and reselling.

PS EDIT.

I just did a search for reviews..found a site that had several reviews that look like they were written by the dealership. One real review from a guy saying they sold a frame damaged car to him. STAY AWAY.
