Resale Value & Market Flood

One of the issues that I was struggling with before I went with the G35 was the resale value (I was debating between the 330 coupe and the G). BMWs maintain their value over the years. Are there any opinions on the anticipated resale value in the next 6-7 years? Does anyone think that that the roads will become flooded with the G35 coupes like BMWs? The reason I went with the G/coupe is because 330 coupes were so common. I hope this does not happen with Gs.

Thoughts?

Ra!

I think G35 is a good car with good a price, so it will definately flood the road.

Personally I think the resale value will remain high, at least for a few years. With as much demand as you have now with a new car, imagine how eager some young kid is, waiting for the first used one to show up in the newspaper. As far as long term resale, I've looked at the Infinti brand as a whole and it is slightly lower than the BMW types. But then again, you are paying less to begin with.

I didn't order the car because of it's resale value. I bought my last new car 12 years ago, still have it, took great care of it, and it looks and drives brand new. So in that sense, I can expect to get above average resale.

Infinti is limiting it's production of the coupes and the 6MTs, so that will help, too.

I think it's all in how well you preserve your car.

Re: Resale Value & Market Flood

yes, bmw's retain their value relative to inexpensive cars. but most 3rd tier cars (30k and up) do retain some value. yes, they take a hit, but that is relative to cost

if you buy a 33k car and 5 years later its worth 22, it's the same as an 18k car being worth 12
