When I'm driving in the city, going over 35mph feels like I'm about to shatter the sound barrier.

125+ on I-83S in Baltimore.
Was racing some dude in a modded up VW (one of those little hatchback ones...forgot the name...I'm dumb) but I was still accelerating when I looked down and saw the needle moving past 125 after that I didn't look down...figured I should be watching the road.[img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

ok... to specify... by "regular street" he means NOT highways. This was clearly specified in the original post.
Anything with Parkway, Expressway, Thruway, Interstate, or Turnpike in the name is not a "regular street."
Just clearing that up since people seem to be getting a little confused.

Vance you KNOW IM DOWN for a run or a drive wheneva, come out here to DPA and ill take you to some hot spots with good twisties, thats the most fun for me right now, im sick of straight line acceleration until i get a turbo or SC setup in lol, now i love going late at night to like Huntington village or Norhtport and taking those backroads, i dont go that fast but the handling is great in my car so its mad fun and then accelerating out of a turn ahhhhh..... Jericho yourwelcome haha, sig looks good 100 PM's lata haha!!

i loooooove speed--- such adrenaline rush , not that i do it though O= )
On the street i try to be responsible-- 80-90 lol there are crazy drivers out there dont want to end up next to one of them when driving at that speed
But on the hwy ive hit 150--- it was quite a rush

NV it is a rush, but 150??!?!??!?! It must have been like a 100 mile straight road for a stock auto coupe to get up that high and fast LOL, JKkK but ive never seen a G35 pull up that high ina short distance and usually you dont have that long period of time to get up that high.. Where you been girl, we were suppose to go clubbin togetherrr

Actually i was on the meadowbrook-- and believe me that is NOT straight-- it had turns-- first time i didnt have complete control of this car-- it was scary but my adrenaline rush was taking over my mind

Guys these speeds are a little out of control. I gotta admint ive prob hit 80-90 on the streets. But anymore and its suicide. I wish I could find pics of the White Z that hit a pole on Hylan about a year ago.... Killed him and some girl he was taking out for the first time.... His Speed was estimated at around 125. Ugliest crash ive seen in a while.
On the HWY do what you gotta do... if its open. But on public streets, cmon people.

I think the general consensus is roughly 80-90 on regular streets. All of the triple digits are on highways which was not a part of the survey. It's just so damn easy to hit 80 in these cars... I feel like every time I get on the gas I'm pushing 90 in no time. Feels amazing to me but the passenger starts to sweat over 70... and on the highway? PHEW! the best is when the broken white lines look like a solid line... thats what speeding is all about. As a side note, I once again owe the people at Escort another $300 because I was going 75 in a 40 at the border between NY and CT coming home last night and the CT cop was sitting ON THE BORDER and it spotted that sucka from a half mile away... slid by him at a ripe 45mph. I love this car!

I generally drive my G very calm around town (shift @ 3k or so)... on the other hand, on a WIDE open road with no cars... [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]. But it's just so damn hard to keep it the speed limit. A tap of the gas on the freeway in 4th or 5th... and you're easily @ 90... I 2nd the comments on HWY's...ballz out! On the streets, just be careful everyone... for the sake of yourself and courtesy to other people.
My Escort has saved me on many many occasions as well... It basically gives you that 1-2sec to SLOW THE HELL down!! I need to hit up a track/autocrossing before I slap those baloons (winter setup) on for the winter. [img]/w3timages/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

Best fast drive.... Penn. Extension off the turnpike. All windey roads, all 100+ MPH for 75 miles. Theres a tunnel on that road (I didnt know cops sit at the end of it). On the way out I cleared it in ~10 seconds running 4th and 5th to redline. On the way back, it took almost a minute (driving the speed limit) to clear.
Drive it like its stolen =)
(but only when theres no one else around to kill, I only put my own life in danger, not others)
