Getting an engine for a Nissan Xterra

My friend just got a nissan xterra for free and it has a blown engine, and he needs some help in finding one, its the vg33e.
he plans on doing it himself, and he just need to know where to get a good one.
He lives New York, Ridge NY to be precise

I guess you could try some junk yards? idk.. this is a G/Z site. I would recommend joining an xterra forum to see what they say.
