I never considered a remote started for the G because the range would never allow it to work from my office to the garage.
Now that they have iPhone apps to start the car, I'm fairly tempted to pull the trigger.
Maybe I'll do something for next fall... I have my pennies saved for other things this summer.
I not only accept benjamin's but also pennies too. Just send me a check!

Damn cold night, I remember the Jeep barely turning over. I was in a real hurry to get home and took off immediately. I got to the red light outside my parking lot on Rt 9 and as I was sitting there, some car came up behind me and then last minute changed lanes to my left.
I'm sitting there thinking to myself, does this guy think I'm going to drive away slowly? Am I in his way?
That light turned green and I floored it.... and the Jeep had *****.
I got up to about 70 before I realized that the Jeep was not shifting. I took my foot off the gas and it sounded like someone was under my hood trying to beat their way out with a baseball bat.
I rolled to a stop and $8,500 later, it was as good as new.
wow..another reason why i will never floor it.....what happened? Tranny? Engine just tore itself apart?

The tranny was fine but I'm sure that it being below zero temps had an effect on the tranny's ability to shift. The fluid was probably like caramel.... Mmmmmm, caramel...
I digress...

The motor just basically tore itself apart. I had bought it used and it had just come back from a 3 yr lease. It looked great but once they started disecting the motor, they saw that it had never been maintained and was a ticking timebomb.
Unfortunately, the damn timebomb went off in my wallet. I was slightly upside down on the Jeep and fixing it was the only option.

Lesson learned though.

I have dried greasing the assembly and took it to the dealer, it is just the way it is. As a result, I let it warm up a good 15 minutes before I attempt to drive it. Even with warming up the oil/engine, the drivetrain and the other components still need to warm up so I do not push the car for another 20 minutes after driving. This is just my take on it though.
+1 , same exact thing i do haha

I at least let it warm up until the TPMS light stops blinking (winter tires/wheels don't have sensors) or until the idle gets to 1k.
