Hey guys so I have been in the Navy for two years now and just found out that they changed the tint law to 70%!. What is the point of tints then? Anyways, I was wondering what tints you guys have and how often do you get pulled over lol. Do you think 50% is ok? I mean its not worth imo to get 70%.

Hey bro welcome back. I have 50% front windshield and 50% in the rear glass, 20% on the sides and haven't gotten pulled over yet. But I do have tan interior.

Hope that helps.

wow you guys got it dark! I have the grey interior and I am mostly going to be in upstate NY. I'm guessing you are guys are near/around the city? Anyways I think I will get 35% done. 20% would look better but I don't want to catch too much attention. Thanks again guys.

You are not allowed to have any tints in the front windows. But many do it anyways and get pulled over and pay fines. I believe its $60 a window. 50% is not really fifty, when they test it which is rare it turns out to be much lower.

35% is good but some think its too light esp on a sunny day. If you're gonna be below legal, might as well go all the way. My vote is for 20%

Enforcement really depends on where you are, different jurisdictions and LEOs use varying degrees of discretion, so ask around town.

NY does allow tints on the front, but you can only tint the top 6". The fine can go above $60 per window and may include court fees. The light meters often come up with different numbers than what your tinter put on because most windows already have some tint from the factory.

70% for side windows, any darkness for the rear windows is the rule per NYS law..... I have 20% all around though. Was pulled over once, took off the front tint, got the ticket written off, and retinted the windows
