Nationwide Infiniti in Timmonium service

This past weekend I took my car in to Nationwide Infiniti in Timmonium for a 15,000 miles service and was quite disappointed. I found out that the in-cabin microfilter was not change. I ask the service guy, they call him "JR": "How come you guys did not change my in cabin filter?" I'm the kind of person that likes to do what the service manual dictate. Guess what's his answer was! He told me that their service station only change the in cabin filter at 30,000 miles and that we live in a non-polluted area so it should not need to be change at 15K. Anyone here ever run into this confrontation with this dealership? I'm thinking of switching dealership but the next closest one is in West Chester which is about an hour away. Some smaller annoyances were that some of the fluids were not filled to MAX. I'm thinking did the techician even fill up my windshield washer fluid because I can't see any by looking at the bottle that holds it. Thanks for responding folks and have a good day....

That's complete BS!!! When you buy the in-cabin air filter... There's a little sticker on the outside that says explicitly that you need to change it every 15,000miles. I changed mine on my own ~16,000 miles and it was pretty dirty even though I vacuum and clean my car weekly.

The whole "You live in a non-poluted area" is B.S. Either contact Infiniti Consumer Dept or you can just fork out the $35 for the filter and do it yourself. It takes only 15min or so and the instructions included are very detailed.

What sucks is you paid for your 15k service and they SHOULD HAVE changed it....

There is a dealership in Ellicott City. I haven't tried them yet but I am due for a service in another 5K. They seem nice but the proof is in the pudding!

I had a bad experience with Nationwide. They are just a bunch of smug @$$holes. Go to JBA which is in Ellicott, great people/experince.

Well, I live in York, PA so all those other dealers in MD are a little too far. I gave the service manager a call today and he told me that they did a check on the filter and if it's not dirty and if the customer did not suggest to change it, then they'll change it at 30,000 miles. However, he said that if I wanted to change it, they can do it for about 90 bucks: parts and labor. Anyhow, my 15K miles service cost me about $174 and that's without the in-cabin filter replaced. How much did it cost you folks?

You can take it to any Nissan dealer in your area if you are paying for the service. Go to Infiniti dealer only for warranty issues. I had the front end aligned this past Tue. @ JBA, they told me it would be covered under warranty since I had under 12,000 miles, but when they had the car in the service bay, they said that since I purchased the car on March 20th, 2004, it was over 12 months (April 4th) so I had to pay $109+. I guess they did an adequate job, didn't wash the car, after they had said they would, but that's just as well. I don't have much faith in any dealership, I do all maintenance myself.

As long as you keep all receipts, doing maintenance yourself is best. Labor charges at dealerships are rediculous (Approximately $80/hour).

FWIW, I had my 15k service done at Jim Coleman in Bethesda. This was last fall. They didn't replace the in cabin filter either, said it would be done at 30k. I asked them, they said they would do it if I insisted (charging me for it, of course) but they didn't think it necessary. If there was a more specific reason, I don't recall it. I think my Acura calls for it to be done every 30k as well (rather than 15k).

I will never EVER take my car to Nationwide in Timonium. I've had several bad experiences there and while sitting waiting for my oil to get changed (a long LONG time ago) I saw someone else getting the run around on his Q45. I live in Baltimore and soon Abingdon and I will still drive 80 miles (yes 80 miles) to Passport Infiniti of Alexandria. The best guys and the best service in the area. It's worth the trip for me! I've also had a bad experience at JBA...I had to tell the guy A) what a TSB was and B) the particular TSB for the window grease streak...sad.

Hi Alex!
