Okay Fellas, I have 1,000 and i think its time to give my car a treat, what do you suggest?i'm looking for a variety of things not just one thing thats costs 900, Like 200 here and 200 there and 200 errwere lol. Thanks guys
its up to you, its YOUR money and YOUR car................
im made plenty of friends from the Va Hampton G35 meet, and with knowledge comes wisdom, instead of just spending money id prefer some pointers from people whos been around the block.
Now what exacly are Z Tubes and what do they do. Its sad when i can tell you everything about my Navy Stike Attack Jet but not about my own car lol
Z-tubes are oem intakes off of the 350z. The stock g35 have a "air box" on the bottom of the tube the restricts air flow. The z-tube does not have it so air is pulled into the motor mobre freely.
No....the vq motor do not make power with an intake...that the reason i said z-tube...they cost like 50 used. Why spend 100+ on an intake and loss or make no to little gain. One thing the vq motor runs hot, most after market intakes take in heat soak causing loss in hp....after intakes are really more of a show piece. The vq motor in not like k or b series motors. They mod differently, thats way tuners are far and few.

On that note, I've noticed that each evolution of the VQ has seen a substantial increase in heat output, to the point that a VHR VQ requires an external oil cooler for track days/hard driving. IMO, nissan needs to up their cooling system capacity/efficiency. In fact, VQ's have been known to be hard on oil as well according UOA, I'm sure the heat issue is related to that.
Dude, I don't understand the intake ordeal either. **** blows my mind. I can't fathom the fact that an intake will give you loss of power.
