Camelback stinks its a large flat hill that ices over quick.

Hunter is always packed.

Windham is decent.

If most of you are beginner or soft intermediate any of the above is more then enough, but if your into big riding you need to go North. Mt.Snow, Okemo, Killington, Stratton, Gore Mt.. One of those babies should serve you fine.
Again, i am down for a local gathering........im not looking to rip up the best snow on the east (East coast snow blows anyway) i just want to get togethr with some peeps and cruise......so the place is not as important as the peeps and the drive!!!

I'm with ya there ....I say we try to keep it in the Pocono's or surrounding area.

If we get desperate, we can always go to Spring Mountain......

What about hitting Windham? Its not that far north and its easily a day trip. I can get there in about 3 hours or so. (With rest stop diversions.)

How about we plan an overnight trip for the first or second week of Feb?

EDIT: Screw Killington, the best of the Vt mountains is definitely Okemo!

Oh yeah, we can go REAL BIG and head up to Lake Placid for a multiday trip! That area just kicks major ***! I would not hesitate one second to take the trip up if someone were interested.

Yea, but that is 3 hours plus the 2 hours at least of us PA peeps getting to the NYC area. Maybe...but this first get together/ski trip is just for the day and needs to be within range for PA and NY peeps. Thanks.

Lets do this the easy way.

forget which mountain is the "best", and "biggest", and "coolest" and lets just all agree on which mountain (or hill haha) is the CLOSEST for the NY peeps and the PA peeps.

Is it Camelback? Is it somewhere else???

Once we all agree on this - then its set. If you want in - then by all means, everyone is TOTALLY WELCOME - but if you dont want to waste your time scraping and sliding around some lil hill (i dont totally blame you) then dont join in.

I think the point of this is to combine snowboarding and a "mini meet" for everyone that is do-able in a day - without Shiiitloads of driving.

I for one HATE East Coast riding, but at this point, would love to just get together and cruise with some G-Peeps and enjoy the company of you all (not shelah heh heh).

Holla.

THANK YOU JON! Amen! LOL No but seriously, he has the right idea. I know Blue Mountain is winning, not including the other, but I think Camelback would be closer for everyone, but I like Blue better (plus I have a free pass and might be able to get other discount tickets).

kool, i was about to post a Snowboarding thread as I haven't seen one until today...if anyone is interested, they run a bus trip out of Ft. Lee NJ to Stratton in VT. IMO Killington was waaaaay too crowded, and most other will agree that Stratton is a lot less congested and just as nice as Killington. The bus trip is $85 which includes round trip bus fare and lift ticket for the day. you leave ft. lee at 4 am and leave VT at 4 pm, your are back in ft. lee by 9ish. i have not been to those other mountains you posted other than camel back, which is not bad IMO for a local mountain and a frend has a shack up there. i just bought a new setup, lets go boarding! btw, i'm goin to VT this weekend to sugarbush, cant wait!

I've been going to Mountain creek twice a week since they opened. It's only a 30 minute drive for me. 45 from the GWB heading directly west into NJ. They are open until 10pm.

Blue would be best for me (being selfish) but I would go to any of the places up in the Poconos.

Also, I will probably drive the FX up there instead of the G. Let me know if anyone wants to carpool up there or if you wanna toss any crap in there to bring up. I'll also bring my extra board in case anyone wants to use it.

Well silly, I was making the offer for the trip we are trying to get together here with the G peeps. However, anytime you feel like going, let me know. I'm always down to hit the slopes..... .

Tomorrow is kinda short notice, but if you're serious, give me a call and we can chat about it.

ok, so lets get this settled people. so we're definitely going to the poconos. now, let's get a date and time at least. after we get date/time then we could decide exactly which mountain in the poconos we'll go to. also, hey profile, do u go to vermont via that bus trip? let me know the next time u going up and i might catch up with u and go. anybody that goes locally too on the weekends let me know. i usually go by myself so it would be cool to either carpool or just meet up with others to go snowboarding. hit me up or post up...
