Exclamation Beware in Lower Westchester NY

I got pulled over in Yonkers NY yesterday by State Troopers coming off the Sprainbrook Parkway. I thought they were going to nail me for speeding, but it was a check point for window tint. I acted dumb about the state law on tint, so the trooper just told me to get it fixed. I have 35% tint. The trooper warned me that they are setting up check points to enforce the tint law for the next few weeks. So be aware driving in lower Westchester County.

Like they have nothing better to do! I can see if you get pulled over for something else and then they check your tint, but to set up a check point just for that, gimme a break! How about getting the damn drunks off the road!

I dont get what is such a big deal about tint. Sometimes they need to crack down on more important laws like people tailgating or being a jackrabbit.

I think it all comes down 2 when a car is pulled over for a legit reason; the officer wants to be able to see you & not worry about a gun being pointed at him while the window is rolled up. In the grand scheme of things, I think it's just a money maker ... otherwise they would come down on tinting shops just as hard as they do on us.

The trooper said that there should be 17% light transmission. He measured 30% on my car.
