Is there a difference between black and smoked side markers?

sorry if this is some repost but I couldn't find anything relative to what I was looking for using the search function. The reason I even posted this was because I looked on ebay and saw some black side markers. I asked the seller about them and he told me that he makes the inside back of the light black but the actual lens is clear. I don't think I want that. I would prefer if I got the lens smoked dark instead. Is there something like that out there and if so, where? Is that even legal? Anybody else with a black G with a similar setup?

I am trying to do the same setup...I think it looks cleaner with the inside painted vs smoking out the whole lens..

check it out for overlays http://photobucket.com/albums/y42/BlueBatmobile2005/
