Wow! What? . . . Are these folks all coming out of a blind turn or something? I hope no one was seriously hurt in that mess.

Wow, that is real bad! Hope everyone made it ok after an accident like that.

Scary thing is...that almost or could have been me. A couple of months back, I was driving from Sac to the Bay on 80 at night and in the fast lane when all of a sudden there was Van sitting in the fast lane with it's hazard lights on. I was going around 80, so I either was going to have to plow into him like on the video or cut off the guy on my right and pray for the best. I was fortunate, but damn, this video freaks me out as to what could have happened that night.

Glad that you avoided what might have been a really bad situation, Rob.

If you look carefully at the highway sign, you can see Victory Blvd. and Ventura Freeway (101 in socal) listed. That's on 405 south in the Van Nuys area right before the 405/101 junction. I used to go to UCLA and passed by there every time I went to 99 Ranch and Costco.

I dunno but it looks like these people are not even paying attention when they are driving...Even if the van was parked it's in the middle of the road...Maybe if there's some fog or something. But that's crazy and nuts...

We call it driving HUA, head up a..... So much for "Slow for the cone zone." Caltrans workers are probably running for their lives. Send that up the Highway Patrol Academy. I'm sure my old accident investigation instructor would like to see that.
