How is the snow at Tahoe in late March?

Here on the east coast, things start to melt in mid-late March and all the resorts pretty much shut down by April 1st. How about over in Tahoe? Are the resorts still 100% operational at that time, or have they closed half the mountain by that time?

If things keep on like they are it will suck. But yes March is a good for us, when it snows.

Really? I thought you guys were getting pounded with snow out west? We haven't even had a milimeter of snowfall yet here.

Honestly, it's mediocre at this point. Storms have been going north. So far a fairly dry year. It's been cold and they've been making snow.
The storms have been going north (i.e. B.C, Seattle, Portland)
Thus, Whistler must be pretty solid.

You may have heard about last March where it rained in the bay almost everyday ! The snow was amazing up in Tahoe. Huge snow.
Just depends on the jetstream.

dont know abut this yr but i jus got back from tahoe this wkend. It sucked. There was really not much snow, and it was about 20degrees. Boarding was a pain when i fell a few times, felt like concrete. The ski resorts ha vent even been in full action yet so i'm betting it will be cool in march....

depends on weather, pretty much no precip in the valley all winter, so you pretty much ride on ice. I'm hoping the jet stream finally drops down into a normal pattern by late January then Tahoe will be loking pretty awesome for March. If you have to make plans now, I'd try someplace else.

i just came back from boarding in tahoe, and the lower runs were harder, but as we went up the mountain, the snow was MUCH better. =)
