Great rides in Norcal!

Where are your favorite roads if you have a few hours for a drive? I just finished some nice quick runs out behind Mather Airport (Sac), this Audi with a front Superman plate kept trying to keep up with me lol! I also hit Guadalupe Canyon Parkway in San Bruno hills once in a while, just watch out for that (little) dip after the crest... What do you look for in a drive? Straight and fast, curvy or scenic?

I went down towards jackson from my house... that is a fairly windy road and it isnt in too bad of condition. When I am in the bay area my friends usually go to 9 or we cruise through different areas. Usually I dont like to drive too fast cause that can get you into some trouble haha.

PCH north of Marin. Have to go early morning otherwise traffic will slow you down.

fast sweeping curves with great scenery... although i probably wouldn't catch much of the scenery due to paying attention to the curves ahead... SR-49 to Salmon Falls Rd... Jackson is good too (watch out for deers though)...

Off I 80 on Suisun Valley Rd which turns into Wooden Valley Rd.
Then right on Monticello Rd then onto Capell Valley Rd (128) to Berryessa Glory Hole, then continue on into Winters for lunch/dinner. Then 505 to 80 and home or turn around in Winters, go back and do it again.

Need to be patient with ppl towing their boats and/or look out for ppl on bicycles, especially the ones that don't know what riding single file means.
Lots of nice twisties and a few long straight stretches where you can really open her up.

Nice scenery for the passenger, lol...unless you've got them somewhat scared and watching the road 110% with you.
Some days there's too many other ppl on that road, in which you just kick it and enjoy the scenic drive and never go over the line on blind turns even on days no one out there with you. You never know and that's not being safe or responsible.

Skyline/Hwy 35, then down toward the 17, then back up Bear Creek.

Did that Saturday during some light rain. Felt my car slip for the first time - kind of scary.

I once hit 120 mph on a certain straigtaway while cruising with the z-guys...
This was after this slow **** fwd impala that was hogging the whole road making turns at 5 mph and constantly riding the brakes finally turned off onto a t intersection.....

Haha...hate slow pokes like those.
Nice, very nice 120mph. That's around what I get up to on one the straights out to Berryessa's glory hole. Then easily on another straight almost in Winters, but that one is kind of close to town, so need to watch out for Smokey there.

Try Old Sierra Rd...starts in Milpitas(Ed Levin Park) and ends in Livermore right at 680. Very fun but too many bicyclists now.
