Anybody want to come out and play at Laguna Seca next Monday?

Also, does anyone have any experience with overheating brakes in their G35s. I haven't driven my G on track but I presume the stock fluid with a wet boiling point of 284 will overheat and cause brake mushiness at a track like Laguna Seca. What combo of pads/fluid work well?

Those of you that have driven Laguna, what sort of lap times are you turning? Even with stock tires, I think 1:40s should be possible.

Possible, though unlikely in a stock G on street tires.

My best time in my stock C5 on street tires was 1:51 and I think it's quite a bit faster than my G. Of course, I'm no Mario Andretti either, but that's not a bad time in that car.

I ran Motul 600 fluid and Carbotech pads (XP10 F, XP8 R), with no added cooling -- never faded, but I'm sure I was on the edge.

I'll be there Monday with a buddy in his C6 Z06 -- his 3rd track day, so he's just on the tip of the slippery slope.

 

Agreed 140s would be tough but I hear the track is a couple seconds faster with smoothed out corners. I've turned 147s in my track car before they sped it up. The fast 911 Toyo cup cars were turning 142s. Realistically 155 is more likely since I need to drive it to work on Tuesday.
